Christopher WoolChristopher Wool

Wool is an American artist famous for his black and white stenciled letter word paintings, Wool forms words and phrases in a grid style that breaks typography and word pattern rules, removing space, punctuation and vowels leaving the viewer to make sense of it. Known also for his abstract work, Wool pushes the limits of painting using of a variety of mediums and tools for mark-making. I am inspired by his ability to move beyond the standard rules and create art that grabs your attention and requires thought to decipher the work.

Craig WardCraig Ward

Ward is a typographer, designer, art director and author. He runs his own studio, Words are Pictures. The name gives away to his approach to typography. Ward manipulates type into illustrations to convey feeling, invoke emotion or tell a story. Even though many of his pieces are photographic, he maintains the discipline to create clean, standard typographic design. Ward’s fine art and graphic design backgrounds give him an edge that is unmatched.

David CarsonDavid Carson

Carson has a body of work that is unlike anyone else. His unique and innovative style is captivating. He is a rule breaker, a bad boy of typography, and the result is amazing. Carson’s designs are often chaotic and sometimes unreadable pieces of art that take time to dissect. He has a distinct style that is incredibly inspiring. While Carson has a signature style, his pieces are never repetitive. He reminds us that graphic design is an art and not limited to life behind a monitor. Thank goodness!
