A Few of Our Favorite Things: LL’s Etsy Illustrators

LOVE his work, it has a series surrealist quality, which I am known to gravitate towards. I also love the loose style brushwork and the fact that you can have a feeling of a narrative in each piece. I think he sort of plays with the juxtaposition of the home and where or how it resides in nature. He also brings to light how we view it, through a window, computer screen, or under water. His color palette is darker; however, he often adds a pop of bright green/teal or blue. Definitely an artist to check out, and exciting that he has prints available on Etsy (as I could never afford his real deal canvas pieces available on his website!)
Janet Hill, https://www.etsy.com/shop/janethillstudio
Janet Hill creates whimsical prints often with a bit of humor. You find yourself smiling a lot when looking at her pieces. A bit vintage in color palette and style, she also throws in a bit of mystery (is that tea cup floating?) I love her title for pieces almost as much as the piece itself. She has a lot of paintings that begin to tell a story through a short series, like her pieces with Miss Moon, or the Kidnapping of Edward Pink. She has so many pieces available, and I literally want all of them.
Becca Stadtlander, https://www.etsy.com/shop/beccastadtlander
Becca Stadtlander has produced work for some major clients such as the New York Times, Kate Spade, Google, and Penguin Books (just to name a few). I think what first got me hooked on her work was her color palette, her work uses lots of bright reds, oranges, pinks, and greens. She has a lot of still lifes and landscapes. She mixes patterns beautifully, giving her pieces a playful feel. She offers not only prints on her Etsy site, but several greeting cards as well (I loved the dog walker thank you card!). Definitely worth your time to check out her Etsy account.
